Secured by Designed: Security is the keyword and center of Pineapple

Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is a specification which Pineapple strictly follows. This specification is regarded as key principles and approach by Pineapple in designing and producing our products and services, from the very beginning process up to installation process on the site.

There are many security approaches that we have to be involved with, such as, the access permission to the systems in database and application level, image storage and deletion in the system including overall activities in this particular system, as well as editing reports and x-ray results. Moreover, with the security system in terms of network and operation process management, every part of Pineapple’s systems always comes with high level of security standard. So, users of Pineapple’s RIS/PACS system can be assured of our security system that all data and information of organization, which had been converted to digital format, will be in the safest place of the system. Even when someone copies some data out of the system without permission, they will not be able to call or open up these data without a key pass.

Every server of Pineapple is designed as closed system; they comprise of IPS and firewall, so our users do not have to worry about the security issue.

Pineapple is the only RIS/PACS Company in Thailand that have co-designed with and received the Certificate from Information System Security Professional (CISSP) and Information Security Manager (CISM), being certified as security auditor. These are other credential qualifications to assure our clients that Pineapple is ready to provide the full service with high performance in security.

Pineapple employs AJAX technology to display results; we can say that Pineapple DICOM Viewer is a DICOM Viewer that can be used without any special plug-in. The advantage of this technology is that all users can access to this system from any computer with Internet connection.

From the “True Internet Application” topic, it showed that Pineapple’ PACS can be further expanded to Teleradiology or Tele-Imaging; the users can choose either of the two to fit their need by compressing ratio as clients’ actual bandwidth.

With the high performance in construction design, the system can be easily adapted to suit every need of the clients and users, from a small simple system to a complicated enterprise system connecting with many networks within or between hospitals. Pineapple’s system is designed by experts in SOA/Web service Architecture, which purposed to increase capabilities of the system in many ways, such as, expanding, reducing if it is too large for some certain hospitals, and adapting to fit the needs of users and clients. The system can be categorized into many formats of results such as display report only or read only, etc.

Moreover, our engineers and programmers can bring up clients’ real workflow to adapt and modify to fit our system to make it even easier but in better solutions. Pineapple’s technicians can also transmit the workflow analysis back to the development headquarter to retouch (modify) to get the best quality of result which suits our clients’ need.
